CAREPAC

Also developed in2004, CARE PAC is the Political Action Committee for the long-term care industry in Oklahoma. It also works hand in hand with the Oklahoma Association of Health Care Providers and our lobbyist team to communicate the critical issues pressing the long-term care industry to legislators at the state capitol. Over the past 3 years the combined efforts of CARE and CARE PAC have resulted in tremendous improvements for the industry.
Legislative success:

  • 2005: Legislation set up payment systems based on direct care costs
  • 2006: $20.4 million appropriations increase for provider rates
  • 2006: Medicaid Reform Legislation set up a reimbursement program that pays nursing facilities for voluntarily participating in Quality Improvement activities
  • 2007: $12.4 million appropriations increase for provider rates

Every dollar raised by CARE PAC goes to support legislative campaigns of those who support our issues and share our vision for quality long- term care.
