About Us

CARE, Inc stands for the Coalition of Advocates for Responsible Eldercare. It was formed in 2004 with two main objectives:

  • Promote improved quality of life for elders and those who care for them
  • Effectively communicate long- term care issues to promote responsible legislation

These objectives are supported by two separate but related entities: CARE, Inc and CARE PAC.
CARE, Inc works hand in hand with the Oklahoma Association of Health Care Providers to educate members of the legislature on the key issues affecting long-care in Oklahoma. Over the past 3 years the efforts of CARE have resulted in tremendous improvements in the long-term care industry.
Legislative success:

  • 2005: Legislation set up payment systems based on direct care costs
  • 2006: $20.4 million appropriations increase for provider rates
  • 2006: Medicaid Reform Legislation set up a reimbursement program that pays nursing facilities   for voluntarily participating in Quality Improvement activities
  • 2007: $12.4 million appropriations increase for provider rates

CARE Inc is comprised of only corporate sponsors and pays 100% of our administrative costs.  Any vendor can become a sponsor of CARE.
